On December 26, 1862, thirty-eight full-blooded and mixed-blooded Sioux Indians were hanged in Minnesota for various crimes against white settlers after what became known as the Great Sioux Uprising. The Uprising came in retaliation for corrupt and questionable actions on the part of the government concerning treaties that were not honored.
The hangings are known as the largest mass execution in United States history. This book is based on that history and is being adapted to film. For info please write to lynny@lynnyprince.com.

A swirl of leaves tumbled and scattered in the wake of the high speed passenger train as it whizzed past, leaving a trail of leaves that fluttered softly into an innocent pile. After all was quiet once more, a blue mist slowly began to ascend from the heavens and the leaves swirled and jumped with glee as a familiar blue hole formed. The roar of the vortex could have easily been dismissed as another train, but the leaves knew better. They vaulted themselves up into the portal, hurling through time toward the beat of a distant drum and people crying out out to the Tunkasilas for mercy, in a language they didn't understand.
